I met with a friend of mine for lunch a few weeks ago, and she looked different. Her face had a younger look to it, I wondered how she pulled that off. At first I thought that she had gone under the knife, and asked her about it. She told me that she didn’t do anything like that, as she was afraid of getting surgery. Instead, she simply went to an aesthetic doctor in Singapore, and had them give her fillers. I had only heard about fillers once or twice, and wasn’t really sure what they were or how they worked.
My friend explained that fillers were simply injections that were strategically placed in areas of the skin to make them have more volume and contours. This put me into an instant shock mode, because I have a huge fear of needles. I don’t like to get stuck with needles of any kind, whether they are for vaccinations or something like an acupuncture needle. My friend tried to tell me that it wasn’t that bad and I would barely even notice that I was being stuck with a needle, but I wasn’t listening to any of that.
Later that day, I looked in the mirror and saw the wrinkles in my face, and remembered what my friend told me. For once, I shelved my fear of needles and made an appointment with the doctor to get fillers. My friend told me that she would go with me to hold my hand if I wanted to, but I said that I would be able to handle it on my own. I realized that I was being such a big baby about the whole thing, because I had the fillers injected and didn’t think anything of it during the entire procedure. Now my face looks as youthful as ever.
